The Taiwan New Dollar (TWD), known in Mandarin as the 新台幣 (xīn tái bì), is the official currency of Taiwan.
History
The Taiwan New Dollar was introduced on June 15, 1949, replacing the Old Taiwanese Dollar at a rate of 40,000 Old Taiwanese Dollars for 1 New Dollar during various economic reforms.
