# Understanding Balances

The **Balances** section of the Conduit platform allows you to easily view your available funds, manage your wallets, and perform key actions like deposits, withdrawals, and sending money—all from a single interface.

This guide walks you through how to use each part of the Balances screen effectively.

## **1. Overview of Your Balances**

When you open the Balances section, you'll see:

- A **total balance** displayed at the top of the page (converted to USD).
- A breakdown of all your **wallets**, each showing the available balance and currency.
- The option to switch between **list view** and **grid view**. The platform will remember your last selected view for your next session.

## **2. Main Actions: Deposit, Withdraw, Send**

You can initiate key actions in two places:

- From the top-right corner of the screen (for general use)
- Directly within each wallet card (which will auto-select that asset for the action)

The three main actions are:

- **Deposit**
- **Withdraw**
- **Send**

To successfully complete a withdraw transaction or an on/off ramp, it's important that the relevant counterparty (recipient or sender) has been created in advance. You can do this from the Counterparties section of the platform. If you're not sure how to create one, follow this guide.

## **3. How to Make a Deposit**

1. Click **Deposit**.
2. The platform will show the **deposit address** for the selected asset.
3. Use the copy icon to copy the address easily.
4. If needed, use the dropdown to switch to a different asset.

## **4. How to Withdraw Funds**

1. Click **Withdraw**.
2. Select the wallet you want to withdraw from (if not pre-filled).
3. Choose a **counterparty** (recipient), or add a new one.
4. Enter the amount and confirm the details.
5. Submit the withdrawal request.

## **5. How to Send Money**

From the **Send Money** option, you can initiate:

- **On-ramps** (fiat to crypto)
- **Off-ramps** (crypto to fiat)
- **Wallet-to-wallet transfers**
- **Fiat to fiat transactions**

Steps:

1. Click **Send**
2. Choose the type of transaction.
3. Enter the amount and select the currency.
4. Choose a counterparty.
5. A **quote** will be generated with an expiration time.
6. Complete the **payment purpose** field and upload documents if required.
7. Review and confirm the transaction.

Once submitted, you’ll see a confirmation screen with the option to start a new transaction or view your history.

## **6. Viewing Wallet-Specific Activity**

Click on any wallet to:

- See a list of all **transactions** involving that asset.
- Apply filters to search by type, date, or status.
- Export the transaction list as a **CSV file**.
- Return to the full Balances view at any time.
